 hra und Maria aus Rumänien zusammen in Bukarest. Die beiden sind sich eng
  verbunden. Als im Iran regimekritische Proteste ausbrechen\, kehrt Zahra 
 dorthin zurück. In Briefen bleiben die beiden über Jahre hinweg in Konta
 kt. Darin schildern sie die Kämpfe von Frauen in ihren Ländern\, die sic
 h in sich parallel anbahnenden Revolutionen in unterschiedliche Richtungen
  bewegen.\n\nIn seltenen Archivaufnahmen verknüpft der Film die Geschicht
 e zweier politisch und kulturell unterschiedlicher Länder und erweitert s
 ie durch fikionalisierte Briefe von Frauen\, die auf Dokumenten der rumän
 ischen Geheimpolizei basieren. So entsteht eine intime Geschichte des Bege
 hrens und Aufbegehrens gegen patriarchale Strukturen inmitten revolutionä

 oments of courage and fear\, hope and disappointment that accompany revolu
 tions\, and places Eastern Europe and the Middle East at the center of the
