 rätiert „THE LAST KLEZMER“ das bewegte Leben und die Musik von Leopol
 d Kozlowski\, dem letzten Klezmer-Musiker\, der in Polen mit dieser musika
 lischen Tradition aufgewachsen ist. Noch vor wenigen Generationen zählte 
 diese Region unter ihren dreieinhalb Millionen Juden Tausende von „Klezm
 orim“. In den 90er-Jahren gab es dann nur noch einen. Leopold lässt sei
 n Leben anhand von Erinnerungen\, Musik und einer Reise zurück in seine H
 eimatstadt Przemyslany (in der Nähe von Lwiw\, Ukraine) Revue passieren. 
 Wir erleben den Musiker als Dirigenten und Lehrer\, der sein Wissen über 
 jüdische Musik an eine neue Generation katholischer Polen weitergibt. Sti

 life and music of Leopold Kozlowski\, the last klezmer musician to have gr
 own up in Poland within this musical tradition. Just a few generations ago
 \, this region was home to thousands of “klezmorim” among its three an
 d a half million Jews. By the 1990s\, there was only one left. Leopold ref
 lects on his life through memories\, music\, and a journey back to his hom
 etown of Preremyschlany (near Lviv\, Ukraine). We see the musician as a co
 nductor and teacher\, passing on his knowledge of Jewish music to a new ge
