Mit dem Comic “Genug gewartet” nimmt Fine (Autor*in und Zeichner*in) euch mit auf die Reise in die Flüchtlingslager und beleuchtet die geschichtlichen und politischen Hintergründe der letzten Kolonie Afrikas.
Die Lesung ist eine Einladung:
– auf drei saharauische Tees,
– zusammen mehr den über 50 Jahre währenden Kampf um die Unabhängigkeit zu erfahren
– und im Anschluss mit einer Person aus der saharauischen Diaspora ins Gespräch zu kommen.
Wer mag, kann gerne schon früher kommen. Bis zum Beginn der Lesung, wird es bei uns nämlich einen kleinen, aber feinen (Floh)markt geben. Die Erlöse gehen an unterschiedliche Projekte.
Außerdem stehen euch Spiel & Spaß in Form von Tischtennisplatte, Kicker und Speddmintonschlägern bereit 🙂

Reading and a conversation with the author and a person from Sahrawi diaspora.
The reading will be held in German. The subsequent discussion and conversation may take place in both German and English.
We wait. We wait for tea. We are in one of the five self-governing refugee camps in Tindouf, Algeria. Around 200,000 Sahrawis have been living here since they were forced to flee Moroccan occupation 50 years ago. But let’s start at the beginning…
With the comic “Genug gewartet” (Enough Waiting), Fine (author and illustrator) takes you on a journey to the refugee camps and sheds light on the historical and political background of Africa’s last colony.
The reading is an invitation:
– to enjoy three Sahrawi teas,
– to learn together about the struggle for independence that has lasted more than 50 years
– and to engage in conversation with a person from the Sahrawi diaspora afterwards.
If you’d like, feel free to come earlier. Until the reading begins, we’ll be hosting a small but lovely (flea) market. The proceeds will go to various projects.
We’ll also have some fun and games for you to enjoy, including a ping-pong table, table football, and Speddminton rackets 🙂
