Soulèvements de la terre (Earth Uprisings) is a collective dedicated to defending land and water and one of the most important groups in the French environmental movement. They are known for their spectacular mass actions, including blockades and sabotage.

But the actions are only the tip of the iceberg; underneath there’s a complex organisation that relies heavily on local roots, broad alliances and a variety of methods: direct action, support for reformist measures and building local power.

In their book »Erste Beben«, activists from soulèvements report on their actions and strategies. We look forward to our guests, to you, and to an evening full of exciting stories and strategic reflections! The event will take place in English, interpretation into German will be

»Soulèvements de la terre« (»Aufstände der Erde«) sind ein Kollektiv zur Verteidigung von Land und Wasser und eine der wichtigsten Gruppen der französischen Umweltbewegung. Sie sind bekannt für ihre spektakulären Massenaktionen, darunter auch Blockaden und Sabotage.

Doch die Aktionen sind nur die Spitze des Eisbergs, darunter steckt eine komplexe Organisierung, die stark auf lokale Verankerung, breite Bündnisse und eine Vielfalt von Methoden setzt: direkte Aktionen, Unterstützung reformistischer Maßnahmen sowie der Aufbau lokaler Gegenkräfte.

In ihrem Buch „Erste Beben“ berichten Aktive der soulèvements von ihren Aktionen und Strategien. Wir freuen uns auf unsere Gäste, auf euch und auf einen Abend voller spannender Geschichten und strategischer Überlegungen! Die Veranstaltung findet auf Englisch statt, es wird Übersetzung ins Deutsche geben.
